The Five Marks of Mission  which have been adopted by many churches as a basis for engaging with their local communities.

Mission Can Be Fun is a unique, highly enjoyable and easy programme which Rural Mission Solutions have developed, designed to make reaching out to your village or community simple and great fun.

How we work and help small churches

We work with village churches across the UK, to release, refresh and resource them for mission.

We offer a process that is interactive, adapted to suit the local situation and usually led by an experienced facilitator. Most importantly, we start by carefully and prayerfully understanding your current situation, looking at your strengths and weaknesses and then we explore what resources your church might already have. It is important that as many church members participate and actively support the process, which then involves generating ideas and determines the most appropriate course of action. This is followed by implementing that plan into action and then evaluating it's success. Once this has been completed, the final step is to repeat the cycle again without losing momentum.

We are well aware of how most village churches are resourced, so we keep costs to an absolute minimum! As our heart is to encourage small village churches, we offer a free initial consultation with no obligation to proceed. Should we then be privileged to work with you, you will find our costs to be very reasonable, and of course, this will be agreed with you in advance. To find out more, click the button below.

The Five Marks of Mission

The five marks of mission were developed and then adopted by the General Synod of the Anglican Church in 1996. They have subsequently been adopted by many of the dioceses and other denominations have used them as a basis of mission ideas as follows:

1.       To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom

2.      To teach, baptise and nurture new believers

3.      To respond to human need by loving service

4.      To seek to transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of very kind and to pursue peace and reconciliation

5.      To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth.

These five steps can be abbreviated to

TELL - TEACH - TEND- TRANSFORM - TREASURE

Mission Can Be Fun!

Rural Mission Solutions has produced a short booklet outlining why Mission can be Fun.

"Mission Can Be Fun" will help small churches to look at community engagement in a new and invigorating way, as the whole church family are released and refreshed in their own gifting. As the author, Barry Osborne, writes "Mission should never be a burden, or awkward. It should be fun."
