With almost 10 million people to be reached with the gospel and some 8,000 churches we seek to enable, this is a task that needs others to share the vision. If you are part of a rural church, or someone who serves a rural church or churches, you probably understand the challenge. Here are some ways in which you could help.
In James chapter 5 verse 16 we read that the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. We will gladly keep you informed of our activities and specific topics for prayer, because we know all too well the value of prayer, and the weakness that comes when prayer is lacking.
We have proved the value of networking local rural church leaders. Quarterly meetings provide fellowship, encouragement, plus fresh ideas and inspiration. All that is needed is for someone to be willing to act as a facilitator, at least for an initial meeting. We can easily help you to gather appropriate leaders from across the denominations within any locality. These local networks are mostly self-sustaining, and we can provide ongoing support. Are you willing to be a facilitator?
Often overworked clergy find the very idea of being missional a challenge. We understand that and do our best to meet the needs of rural church leaders in a number of ways. One of these is through our regular free webinars on a range of subjects related to the life and witness of rural churches. We also conduct regional rural mission consultations and one-to one mentoring.
The problem is that most people who could benefit from any of these do not know they are available or might not have realised how much good material is available either free or for a nominal fee.
Could you help us get the word out?
If you are in rural church leadership, or active in ministry with rural churches, you might find a link of associate membership helpful. This opens up prayer support and fellowship, plus discreet advice and mentoring if needed.
Like many, we find talking about money a little embarrassing, though we do not know why. Even though Rural Mission Solutions manages to run on an extremely small budget through the generosity of its staff, this vital ministry cannot be sustained or expanded without a steady income. Since most of those we seek to serve face their own financial challenges, almost all that we do is provided without a fee.
Here are some ways that you could help us to help others.
